21 DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1 - CASABLANCA
We will pick you up from Mohammed V airport and transfer to the Hotel.
Overnight.
DAY 2 – CASABLANCA / RABAT / TANGIER
While in Casablanca, you will stop at the Great Hassan II Mosque, the third
largest Mosque in the world. You will visit the interior of the Mosque,
before departure to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There you will enjoy a
sightseeing tour of Rabat featuring the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the
Hassan Tower and Chellah Necropolis. After we will travel north to visit the
Exotic Gardens at Bouknadel. The journey will continue towards Tangier. If
Time permit, we will have a stop at the small town of Assilah. Overnight.
DAY 3 – TANGIER / CHEFCHAOUEN
While in Tangier you will visit the Kasbah and the Medina plus other sights.
After we will drive through the Rif mountains towards Chefchaouen or Blue
City as we call it. On the way we will stop at Tetouan for a short visit to the
archeological museum there then wind our way through the mountains to
Chefchaouen. Overnight in the Riad in the heart of the hill town.
DAY 4 - CHEFCHAOUEN
After breakfast you will prepare yourself for the tour of the Medina of
Chefchaouen. This tour will feature the old part of the hill town and a visit to
the famous Kasbah. After an independent lunch at a local restaurant you will
continue your visit to the waterfalls at Rass EL Mae where you will see the
locals going about their daily tasks. Late afternoon and evening will be free
to spend at your leisure. Dinner in the Riad and overnight.
DAY 5 – CHEFCHAOUEN / VOLUBILIS / MEKNES / FES
After breakfast you will prepare yourself for the tour of the Medina of
Chefchaouen. This tour will feature the old part of the hill town and a visit to
the famous Kasbah. After you will continue your visit to the waterfalls at
Rass EL Mae. Where you will see ladies doing laundry and washing up.
Departure to Fes through Volubilis and Meknes. DiN ner and overnight.
DAY 6 - FES
After breakfast the entire day will be devoted to sightseeing the city of Fes,
the spiritual capital of Morocco. Step back six centuries into the medieval
Medina with its narrow and cobbled streets filled with ancient mosques,
towering green glazed minarets and crumbling fondouks. Narrow openings
into private worlds reveal architecture of peaceful courtyards filled with
carved cedar, brilliantly colored mosaic tiles and delicately carved stucco
ornaments. Suggested lunch will be at Palais Terrab, a beautiful Arab palace.
After lunch, we will visit the Attarine and Abou Anania Medersas, the
Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine
Mosque. In the afternoon, we will visit the countless souks, the famous
tanneries and Fes Jdid. Overnight at the Riad.
DAY 7 – FES / SEFROU / BHALIL / FES
Today you can choose what you want to do. Spend more time in the souks or
take a cooking class or take a day trip to Sefrou and Bhalil where you will be
invited to lunch with my family. Back to Fes. Diner and overnight.
DAY 8 – FES / IFRANE / MIDELT
After enjoying your breakfast we will make our way through the amazing
middle Atlas Mountains. First we will do the circuits of lakes including the
Aoua lake then through the cedar woods to the town of Ifrane. After we will
do Azrou and the Berber village of Ain Leuh. From there we will drive
through one of my favorite places in the region and Morocco which is the
Oum Rbia river and the mountains of Bekrit. Then we will continue till the
Berber village of Itzer. Arrival to Midelt later in the day.
DAY 9 – MIDELT / ERFOUD / MERZOUGA
Today we will start travelling over another mountain chain in Morocco
which is the Eastern High Atlas. After passing the Talghomt pass we will be
in the grand canyons of Morocco. Arrival to the city of Errachidia then to
Erfoud before reaching the village of Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. Rest
for a while and enjoy some desert tea. Take your camel ride to the luxury
camp in the heart of the sand dunes..
DAY 10 – MERZOUGA / TODRA GORGE / SKOURA
After breakfast you will head back to Erfoud. From Erfoud you set out
behind the High Atlas Mountains on route to the Todra Gorge. In the
afternoon, you will take a walk up in the towering Todra Gorge (600 feet
high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey towards the
southeast of Morocco. Then drive towards the Skoura Palmerie.
DAY 11 – SKOURA / DADES VALLEY / SKOURA
Today we will take you on a beautiful drive through the Rose valley and
then into the most incredible Dades valley to enjoy all the Berber villages,
green groves of walnuts, willow trees, fig trees and every other natural
beauty of the region. Back to Skoura.
DAY 12 - SKOURA
Free Day at leisure.
DAY 13 – SKOURA / ASNI
After breakfast departure to Ouarzazate and then to the Ait Benhaddou
village where you will visit the ruins of this ancient Kasbah. Lunch at
Kasbah Ait Benhaddou before we continue via the Tiz n’Tichka pass (7,415
ft / 2,260 m) and Taddert to get to the village of Asni after passing through
the Ourika valley.
DAY 14 – ATLAS MOUNTAINS
Day trip to the Toubkal National Park Or free time at the Kasbah Tamadot.
DAY 15 – ATLAS MOUNTAINS / MARRAKESH
After a leisurely breakfast, departure to Marrakesh.
DAY 16 - MARRAKESH
Sightseeing of Marrakesh nicknamed The Pearl of the South; featuring a
visit to the 16th century Saadian Tombs, Dar Si Said; Museum of
Moroccan Arts, the fragrant Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret and the
magnificent Bahia Palace with its extraordinary tiles, opulent courtyard sand
fountains. After lunch on your own, you will visit of the Djemaa-el-Fna
Square where fortune-tellers, acrobats, vendors, snake charmers and
magicians put on a never-ending show. In the evening, (optional)
entertainment dinner show at Shahramar restaurant before returning to the
Riad for overnight stay.
DAY 17 - MARRAKESH
A visit to the private gardens of Yves Saint Laurent and the private Islamic
Art Museum. Drive along the city ramparts dividing the town into the oldest
and the newest parts of Marrakesh. The afternoon is free to spend as you
wish with your guide/driver at your disposal. Suggested dinner at a local
restaurant and overnight at the Riad.
DAY 18 – MARRAKESH / ESSAOUIRA
After breakfast you will depart for the romantic seaside town of Essaouira.
After arrival and check-in, a sightseeing tour of the city will feature
Essaouira's typical Portuguese harbor portraying influences of both Moorish
and Portuguese design. Highlights will include the fishing harbor and the
Skala (the Battery) left by the pirates. Optional: 1 hour Sea Tour by boat.
The afternoon is free to spend at leisure. Overnight at the Riad.
DAY 19 - ESSAOUIRA
Full day at leisure with your guide/driver at your disposal. You may want to
take a small boat cruise (optional: not included). Overnight.
DAY 20 – DEPARTURE
Transfer to airport for departure flight
